Article 2:  The Wisdom of Horse

They possess a "knowing" that we can only speculate about. They shift and successfully adapt between two worlds; the world of humanity. They have learned to accept confinement and submission in forms that are humanly intolerable. Look into the eye of your horse and you will see the following emotions: curiosity, surprise, interest, satisfaction, bewilderment, and even sadness. For they "know". They hold the key to many of life's existential questions. Sound farfetched?

Try spending some quiet, uninterrupted moments with your horse. Touch them. Nose to nose. Communicate without using your voice. Feel their breath. If you listen to them you will learn from them. They will come to trust you enough to share their secrets and wisdom with you. You must be open and ego-free to receive their gifts. You must put all personal thoughts aside and be with them in each individual moment, as in meditation.

By instinct, the horse only knows the ways of nature. He will lead you on the path that will bring you in harmony with the earth.

Through the use and development of these meditation skills; the degree of joy, peace, and self-knowledge you will achieve with your equine "teacher" will be infinite. All these blessings wait. Yet, you have not even begun to ride!
